Sitting next to Snowdon, the peak of Yr Aran is more often than not, overlooked by walkers as they strive for the summit of Snowdon along the Watkin or Rhyd Ddu paths. However this peak offers tremendous scenic views of the Snowdon Range, the Nantlle Ridge, and Moel Hebog.
Often viewed from Llyn Gwynant between Beddgelert and Pen-y-Pass/Capel Curig, Yr Aran offers a classic pyramidal peak, made all the more impressive across the lake.
Standing at just 747 metres (2,451 feet), it is not the tallest peak in Snowdonia but what height it does have, is constructed in a classic pyramidal peak.
So well worth a visit!
